Why is it that we run from the deepest of love that we encounter?  Something that we want so much to be in our lives is something that we really still haven’t come to the deepest of its understanding; Love.  Because love is healing and nurturing it can drive us away from ourselves.  Love needs to flow in your heart for you to accept it. If love is not flowing then how can we know it and understand it. Love is something that requires re-learning or going back to what once was.  People often make the assumption that if love is not flowing then it doesn’t exist.  When we wish for love we are blocking it out with fear.  The way we learn love is to love the self first. When we have love flowing in our bodies it is important to extend this love to another. Fear is the ultimate spoiler of joy and can ruin many areas of our lives.  Love and fear are opposites, not love and hate; hate comes from fear.

Men fear love more than women because they weren’t raised to show emotion on the other hand women have no problem sharing their feelings with each other.  It is not love that we fear but other obstructions that get sucked in by the ego and create erratic behavioral patterns. Fear is one of the most basic human emotions and lives in the nervous system. The goal is to embrace and understand our fears so that we can love. What school teaches this? Fear can be an addictive habit patterned within that has the power to create an imbalance both emotionally and physically. For example when we sense danger the brain will react and send messages throughout the central nervous system. Fear is deep rooted and is associated with anger. It can be seen as anxiety, defense and control. But no one knows that and people actually are afraid of anger and in denial about it as well.  People look at fears as dangerous and when it comes to love the mind rejects this danger and the fear of love sets in.  The biggest fear in love is commitment and the fear of being trapped.  Commitment is a conscious choice which for some can lead to a feeling of being trapped.   It is possible to overcome your fears. It is a skill that anyone can learn.  Here are some tips.

  • Conscious Awareness: detach from your thoughts
  • Make a list of your losses in the past. This can help your sort out your fears
  • Categorize your fears; one by one
  • Focus on working with commitment in an area of your life; for example commit to a gym class weekly. This will help build inner strength which can bypass fear
  • Write down things that create stress and anger in your life
  • Take out time to Breath consciously
  • Practice the art of giving. Give kindness in any way you can. This will let down a fear
